The musical concept that is Floora today was developed further when they both moved to Bergen early '99. They recorded a mixtape by using 4 decks simultaneously. This tape found it`s way to the british DJ magazine XFADE (iDJ). The mix won the bedroom DJ competition in may'00, although the competiton was an exclusive for british DJ`s. XFADE’s review of the tape is a total brag (see press section) and provided the breakthrough Floora needed. The duo had not actually played one single gig prior to this review. The very essence of the Floora project lies in showing the audience certain links between whatever kinds of music. Floora work their liveshows combining all the styles of mixing that they know, progressing through a lot of cross-genres in service of making it all one massive piece of music. It could be described as a sort of live-remixing. As well as smooth beatmatching and beats + pieces type of mixing they have a couple of cutting edge trixteries up their trousers.
